Ruling bloc agrees with PM’s Amulsar stance

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. The ruling My Step bloc has had a discussion with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the Amulsar project with the same emphases that he himself presented during today’s live broadcast, and the faction shares this position, My Step bloc leader Lilit Makunts told reporters.

“Making a decision about this issue isn’t in the legislative’s framework, however as a political team we have our position. The prime minister noted the need to act as a state of law and to act exclusively in this framework, at the same time emphasizing that the residents’ concerns, environmental issues and others can’t not be taken into account. And at this stage an objective is set for the inspections agency to immediately commence actions there and raise the issues, if the issues exist. At this stage it’s not about the operation of the mine, but also about the construction which is required at the initial phase. And moreover it was noted that even if during construction violations and deviations from standards will be observed the inspections agency will take all necessary actions. And the My Step faction agrees and shares this stance,” Makunts said.

Makunts said the decision and steps which will be made will not anyhow damage the state, the state’s interests, the population and environment.
