2800 residential buildings damaged in China chemical plant explosion
YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS. More than 2800 residential buildings have been damaged as a result of the March 21 explosion at the Jiangsu Tianjiayi Chemical Company, on the outskirts of the city of Yancheng in Jiangsu Province in China, RIA Novosti reported.
89 homes have been damaged beyond repair.
Local authorities have announced victims will be provided with compensations.
The death toll in the explosion is currently 64. More than 600 were injured.
Police detained personnel of the factory on Friday amid an ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly blast.
