Armenian FM, Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation highlight level of 
political dialogue between the two countries

YEREVAN, MARCH 21, ARMENPRESS. Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Minister for International Development Cooperation of Sweden Peter Eriksson on March 21.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the press service of MFA Armenia, greeting the guest, FM Mnatsakanyan congratulated him on being appointed to this responsible position and wished him success in his mission.

The sides highlighted the dynamics of the existing political dialogue between the two countries and reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral formats. The ministers particularly highlighted high-level contacts and mutual visits.

Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized also the role of parliamentary diplomacy in progressing the bilateral relations.

The Armenian FM also referred to the recent domestic political changes in Armenia and the reform process of the Government based on the broad mandate of the people aimed at further enhancing democracy, rule of law and human rights. Minister Mnatsakanyan pointed out creation of conductive atmosphere for carrying out economic revolution based on high technologies and innovations as a priority for the government,

The side also referred to cooperation prospects in the sphere of environment protection and renewable energy.

Minister Mnatsakanyan and Peter Eriksson  also exchanged views on Armenia-EU cooperation. In this context Zohrab Mnatsakanyan emphasized that the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership will be a good opportunity to sum up the achievements and outline the directions of the future works.

At the request of Peter Eriksson, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan presented the approaches and position of Armenia on the peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
