History of two peoples combined with potential of their future: Armenian-Georgian high-level 
meeting held in Yerevan

YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the official visit of the Georgian President to Armenia, the Armenian and Georgian delegations led by the presidents of the two countries held an extended-format meeting at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan on March 13, the Armenian President’s Office told Armenpress.

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian welcomed Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili’s first official visit to Armenia. He said the history of the two peoples today is combined with the potential of their future. “This is a very broad cooperation spectrum, starting from cultural, educational heritage up to latest technologies, artificial intelligence, energy, transport, tourism and etc”, the Armenian President said. “There is huge potential, and I highly value the direct, concrete cooperation in separate sectors in this potential. This cooperation should be multisectoral”.

In her turn the President of Georgia said her delegation is the affirmation of the fact on how much they are interested in the relations with Armenia. “Although our region is in tense situation, we managed to keep the stability and our attractiveness”, she said.

During the talk both sides noted that there are great opportunities to develop the cooperation in tourism, energy, infrastructures, new technologies, culture and education.

The Armenian and Georgian Presidents exchanged views on the mutual cooperation in international platforms, as well as the regional issues and agreed that stability and predictability are key and necessary condition for development.

The Georgian President invited her Armenian counterpart to participate in the Batumi Conference: Georgia’s European Way to be held in July. In his turn President Sarkissian invited Salome Zourabichvili to attend the Armenian Summit of Minds which will take place in Dilijan in June.
