Armenia, Georgia highlight importance of implementing joint energy and logistics projects in 
South Caucasus

YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS. Mutual understanding and trust environment are typical to the Armenian-Georgian relations, President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian told reporters following his meeting with Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili in Yerevan today, reports Armenpress.

“Our joint history is distinguished with the traditions of friendly countries and numerous other civilizational commonalities. Based on them today the multisectoral cooperation of our countries develops and strengthens. The development of unique relations with Georgia today again has its special place in Armenia’s foreign policy agenda. The evidence of this are the recent high-level regular meetings and agreements”, Armen Sarkissian said.

He assessed the talks with his Georgian counterpart as effective, stating that they have discussed a number of issues of bilateral interest.

The Armenian and Georgian Presidents discussed the opportunities to implement joint programs in transportation, tourism, new technologies, agriculture and other sectors. “We highlighted the importance of implementing energy infrastructures and logistics programs in South Caucasus aimed at regional security, stability and development. We attach great importance to the cooperation in the fields of education, culture and preservation of cultural heritage. We believe that our joint efforts on these directions will be effective”, Armen Sarkissian said.

He reaffirmed the belief that they will be able to further deepen the Armenian-Georgian friendly, traditional relations through joint efforts.
