Armenia to donate modern ambulances to Artsakh

YEREVAN, MARCH 4, ARMENPRESS. Artsakh’s State Minister Grigory Martirosyan held a meeting with visiting Armenia’s healthcare minister Arsen Torosyan on March 4 in Stepanakert.

During the meeting Martirosyan praised the current level of partnership between the Armenian and Artsakh healthcare ministries, and attached importance to the continuation of ongoing works.

In this context the State Minister especially underscored the projects of introducing an electronic healthcare system and the pilot program of healthcare insurance. “We find the medical insurance to be especially priority and in demand. We believe it must become a social institution, because we view healthcare issues in this framework in the core of the government’s policy logic,” Martirosyan said.

Thanking for the warm reception, Torosyan also praised the cooperation dynamics and noted that all development programs in Armenia also take into account the issues of Artsakh.

“Soon we will provide our colleagues in Artsakh ten new and modern ambulance vehicles. Other assistance programs will also take place. Regarding the introduction of a medical insurance system, we too attach importance to the priority of it having a social direction, and we believe that it should not simply become a priority tool for developing the financial market. I am sure that a government decision that will soon be adopted in Armenia will be within this logic, and our cooperation also in this sector will have important prospect,” Torosyan said.

Healthcare minister of Artsakh Arayik Baghryan was also in attendance of the meeting.
