Opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan’s son questioned by police in connection with fatal shootout
YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS. The son of Prosperous Armenia Party president Gagik Tsarukyan, Nver Tsarukyan, has been questioned by police in connection with the fatal shootout in a restaurant in Abovyan, a town just outside Yerevan.
Prosperous Armenia Party spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan, however, has said that Tsarukyan’s son has nothing to do with the incident and has not had any participation in it.
“I am officially informing that Nver Tsarukyan has nothing to do with this incident and didn’t have any participation,” Tonoyan said on Facebook in response to an article by 1-in.am news claiming that the politician’s son indeed did have involvement.
Tonoyan said that Nver Tsarukyan has been questioned and that authorities have already determined that he has nothing to do with the case.
Prosperous Armenia Party has 26 seats in the 132-seat parliament and is the leading opposition faction by size.
