YEREVAN, DECEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s economic activity index for January-November 2017 surpassed the index of the same period of the previous year by 7.3%, reports Armenpress.

The National Statistical Service of Armenia has introduced the current main preliminary macro-economic indicators characterizing the socio-economic situation of Armenia.

Decline was registered only in the volumes of the gross agricultural output.

During January-November of this year increase was registered in the construction field: compared to the same period of the previous year, the figure increased by 0.3% comprising 324 billion 558 million drams. The electricity production volume increased by 4.9% in January-November, 2017, compared to January-November, 2016. Service volume (trade excluded) increased by 14.2% compared to January-November, 2016, comprising 1 trillion 311 billion 188.4 million drams, and agricultural production decreased by 3.9%, comprising 811 billion 713.8 million drams.

Consumer price index increased by 0.8% in January-November, 2017, and the industrial production price index increased by 3.9%.

Trade turnover increased by 14.4% and comprised 2 trillion 272 billion 476.9 million drams. The industrial production volume amounted to 1 trillion 491 billion 375.5 million drams, increasing by 12.3% compared to January-November, 2016.

Average monthly wage increased by 2.6% (189 thousand 631 AMD). The average monthly nominal salary in the public sector comprised 159 thousand 270 drams and in the private sector it comprised 225 thousand 966 drams, increasing by 3.6% compared to January-November, 2016.

External trade turnover volumes rose by 26.4% (5 billion 784.2 million USD) compared to January-November, 2016, moreover, the export grew by 23.5% (2 billion 013.8 million USD) and the import rose by 28% (3 billion 770.4 million USD). US exchange rate against the dram was 482.67.
