Europeans consider Armenia’s being bridge between EAEU and EU a reasonable idea – German
MP

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. German Bundestag lawmaker Albert Weiler says the Armenia-EU new agreement was a step ahead for both sides, reports Armenpress.

“Armenia is considered for Germany as a positive country, especially after the recognition of the Armenian Genocide last year. I think in the recent years the relations of the two countries have further intensified”, the lawmaker said during the discussion on Armenia-EU new agreement organized by the initiative of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Armenian parliamentary standing committee on foreign affairs.

According to MP Albert Weiler, the European Union expects from Armenia a stable and democratic government.

“We will assist the spheres within our jurisdictions, and we, in particular, will focus on education by which we can achieve more goals”, the German lawmaker said.

Asked what the EU thinks about Armenia’s serving as a bridge between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the EU, the German MP said: “I think Europeans consider it as a very reasonable judgment, and yes, we will welcome the bilateral cooperation since by this we will be able to reach the goal that Armenia will also serve as a bridge between these two unions”, he said.

Armenia and EU signed the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) on November 24 in Brussels.
