President Sargsyan receives Vologda Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on December 18 had a meeting with Russia’s Vologda Region Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.

Welcoming the guest in Armenia, President Sargsyan attached importance to the decentralized cooperation between Armenian provinces and Russian regions being one of the most important components of Armenian-Russian inter-state ties. In this context the President expressed satisfaction over the cooperation established at various directions after the signing of 2016 agreement between the Armavir province and Vologda region’s government on commercial, scientific-technical and humanitarian partnership the results of which are the significant growth of trade turnover, the intensification of cultural ties and the new agreements reached on expanding the bilateral relations.

Vologda Governor Oleg Kuvshinnikov thanked for warmly hosting the delegation led by him including members of the region’s government, numerous businessmen, NGO representatives, city mayors. The Governor said the effective inter-regional ties are the best guarantees for long-term firm partnership and attached importance to the consistent work on deepening these ties. He presented the busy schedule of his visit to Armenia within the frames of which new documents have been signed, as well as agreements were reached on new joint initiatives.

The officials also talked about the Armenian community of Vologda which actively works in the region contributing to strengthening the ties with Armenia.
