Lavrov refers to issue of increasing the number of OSCE observers in Nagorno Karabakh

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. The OSCE special representative tries to coordinate the parameters of the increasing of the number of the observers of the Office of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk, ARMENPRESS reports Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced in Vienna during a press conference in the sidelined of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting.

“The issue of increasing the number of the OSCE observers on the contact line of Nagorno Karabakh was discussed in 2016 in Vienna during the meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, attended also by the foreign ministers of Russia, the USA and France. Afterwards, the issue was also raised in St. Petersburg in June, with the participation of President Vladimir Putin. Afterwards, the agreement was submitted to the OSCE and I know that the OSCE special representative tries to coordinate the parameters of its implementation”, Lavrov said.

Earlier, speaking about Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, Lavrov had emphasized that he assesses the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham ALiyev in 2017 a positive step in the settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
