Austria

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. Days of Armenian Music took place in Vienna on November 8-12. With the joint efforts of Armenian and Russian embassies the second concert series of “Classical Young Stars” took place on November 8-10 in Austria, with participation of young musicians from Armenia, Russia and Austria, press service of the Armenian foreign ministry told Armenpress.

The opening of the concert series took place on November 8 at the Russian Center for Culture and Science in Vienna, and continued on November 9 at the festive hall of the Embassy of Russian Federation in Vienna, in the presence of Austrian politicians, heads of diplomatic missions. Armenian Ambassador to Austria Dr. Arman Kirakossian in his opening remarks wished a success to the Armenian, Russian and Austrian talented youngsters and expressed his gratitude to the Russian side, namely - to his colleague - Russian Ambassador to Austria Mr. Dmitry Lubinski for his cooperation shown in the implementation of this project and hosting this musical event. Special appreciations were expressed to the Art-director of the Project, founder of the MUSE Music Association Ms. Karine Harutyunian for excellent organization of the concert series and for her devotion to pave the way for talented adolescents onto the best stages of Vienna.

On November 10, the Gala Concert of “Classical Young Stars” took place in the very heart of the Austrian capital - in Hofburgkapelle of the Habsburg’s Royal Palace in Vienna, with a presence of a large number of political and public figures, diplomats, representatives of Armenian and Russian communities.

During the concerts talented children performed Armenian, Russian and European composers, Armenian and Russian folk and spiritual music.

Another major event – concert by Armenian National String Quartet after Komitas took place on November 12 at the renowned “Musikverein” hall in Vienna. A large number of Armenian and foreign audiences, representatives of Austrian political and public circles, heads of diplomatic missions, attended this musical event, organized by the Austrian community of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Armenian Embassy in Austria.

The Komitas Quartet performed works by Komitas and Mirzoyan, and the Gliere Quartet of Austrian-Armenian alto player Gayaneh Mirzoyan joined them in performing Borodin and Mendelssohn-Bartholdy.
