Putin appoints new Ambassador to Turkey

YEREVAN, JUNE 19, ARMENPRESS. Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Alexey Yerkhov as Russia's new ambassador to Turkey, according to the decree published on the official portal of legal information.

Yerkhov, chief of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Crisis Management Center, replaces Andrey Karlov, who was gunned down in December 2016 by an off-duty Turkish police officer in an art gallery.
