Armenian Cabinet to be authorized to declare state of emergency- legislative change
21:42, 13 June 2017YEREVAN, JUNE 13, ARMENPRESS. The Cabinet of Armenia will discuss a legislative bill on making changes in the law of the Republic of Armenia on “legal regime of the emergency situation”, according to which the Cabinet of Armenia will be authorized to declare state of emergency, “Armenpress” reports the bill is included in the agenda of January 15 session of the Cabinet.
Currently, the power to declare state of emergency is in the hands of the President of the country. This move comes as a result of the Constitutional referendum of Armenia held on December 6, 2015, transforming Armenia into a parliamentary state.
