Exhibition dedicated to Russia Day opens in Yerevan

YEREVAN, JUNE 10, ARMENPRESS. The exhibition entitled “With love to Armenia and Russia” opened in Yerevan, dedicated to Russia Day.

The exhibition includes over 200 photos, which depict the charity activities of philanthropist Hrachya Poghosyan in 10 different countries.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan, Vice-Speaker of Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov, Lt. General Norat Ter-Grigoryants, Hero of the Artsakh War and Ambassador of Russia to Armenia H.E. Ivan Volinkin.

“We cooperate with philanthropist Hrachya Poghosyan since the establishment of the ministry. I am proud that we have a fellow Armenian like this – humble, smart and organized. He is engaged in a work which speaks about his true character. I am happy that we have this kind of an Armenian living in St. Petersburg. I greatly highlight that his activity contributes to the enhancement and development of the Armenian-Russian ties”, minister Hakobyan said.

Vice Speaker Sharmazanov also delivered remarks, saying the Poghosyan has supported and continues supporting the Armenian people for many years.

“I have the honor to bestow Hrachya Poghosyan with the highest award of the Parliament – the Commemorative Medal of the National Assembly”, Sharmazanov said and personally awarded the philanthropist.

During the event, Hrachya Poghosyan presented an apartment as a gift to a family who lost their home in the 1988 devastating Gyumri earthquake. He personally gave the keys of the apartment to the family.

During the event, the presentation of the book of Soviet Union Marshal Hovhannes Baghramyan entitled ‘Children of Great People’ was held, which was presented by the grandson of the Marshal – Ivan Baghramyan.
