YEREVAN, JUNE 9, ARMENPRESS. Law enforcement agencies of Armenia released new details on the fatal hit and run incident in Hrazdan.

Police were notified on June 8, at 12:30, that a 58 year old man was hospitalized as result of a traffic accident, who failed to regain consciousness and died.

“Officers were dispatched to the scene, where a 32 year old man had arrived and stated that he was driving the Nissan Teana, around 12:20 on the same day, when he hit the man on the Kaghsi-Hrazdan road, near the former Milk Factory.

However, police revealed that the driver of the vehicle wasn’t the 32 year old, but rather a 17 year old man.

Through measures taken by the police, the 17 year old turned himself in later in the evening, testified that he was behind the fatal hit and run, and after the incident sought medical treatment because he felt ill. An investigation is underway”, the police said in a statement.

According to media reports, the 17 year old driver is the son of Hrazdan Mayor Ara Danielyan.
