Parliament unanimously adopts bill on creating anti-corruption commission

YEREVAN, JUNE 8, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s Parliament unanimously adopted the bill on ‘Corruption Prevention Commission’ and the package of related bills at the first reading, reports Armenpress.

87 MPs voted in favor of the legislative initiative.

Before the voting ‘Yelk’ faction head Nikol Pashinyan delivered remarks stating that they will vote in favor of the bill. ‘Of course, this bill doesn’t fully reflect our desires, however, we think this is a step ahead and we will vote in favor it”, he said.

Parliament’s Vice-Spealer, ‘Tsarukyan’ faction MP Mikayel Melkumyan stated that they have discussed the bill in-detail with Arpine Hovhannisyan, and their proposals were accepted. He said they reached a consensus and will vote in favor of the legislative initiative.

The Parliament also unanimously adopted the draft law on making changes and amendments in the law on ‘Public Services Regulatory Agency’ at the first reading, with 88 votes in favor.
