Artsakh’s Defense Army never targets civilian objects – President’s spox Davit Babayan

YEREVAN, MAY 31, ARMENPRESS. The Republic of Artsakh denies reports on opening fire towards Azerbaijani settlements by the Armenian forces.

Artsakh’s Defense Army has never targeted civilian objects, Davit Babayan, spokesman of the President of Artsakh, told Armenpress.

“Azerbaijan runs cunning policy, it always deploys various divisions, artillery near the settlements firing shots towards our posts. The Armenian side never targets any civilian object. If those military objects are very close to hospitals or other civilians objects, we do not fire towards that direction. Azerbaijan’s such policy proves that it wants to carry out any terror attack and to show that Artsakh carries out such actions, and to try to somehow justify itself. I repeat, we have never targeted any civilian object, compared to them”, Davit Babayan said.

He said if Azerbaijan is not the one which violates the ceasefire regime, in that case why it doesn’t agree on increasing the number of observers in the border. Meanwhile, the Armenian side has repeatedly stated that it supports increasing the number of observers.
