Fund For Armenian Relief’s children’s assistance center works with more than 1000 kids yearly
YEREVAN, MAY 29, ARMENPRESS. Fund for Armenian Relief’s (FAR) center-foundation of children’s assistance is annually working with an average of 1000 children. The number of children sheltered in the center reaches yearly 200.
Margarita Ter-Hovhannisyan, social worker of FAR, told a press conference in ARMENPRESS they work with children aged 3-18.
Currently the center has 17 children, and finding the solution to their problems has become difficult, whereas everything would’ve been much easier in case of prevention.
“It’s better to prevent, rather to work at eliminating consequences. The center’s experience shows that today experts find it difficult to find solutions to the children’s problems regarding abuse, because they’ve become so deep that parents don’t pay attention and don't have faith in their solution”, she said.
Ter-Hovhannisyan said that compared to the previous year, there are more cases when they succeed in returning the child to the family.
