Three Armenian citizens dead in Marseille building fire
14:57, 26 May 2017YEREVAN, MAY 26, ARMENPRESS. A fire in a residential building in Marseille, France killed four people, including three Armenian citizens, foreign ministry spokesman Tigran Balayan told ARMENPRESS.
Balayan said the victims have been identified as the Kocharyan family. Arsen Kocharyan, the father of the family, suffered burns and is currently hospitalized.
The blaze broke out at 03:00 in the multi-storey building. Twenty residents were evacuated.
The Marseille Prosecutor said authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
Jean-Claude Gaudin, Mayor of Marseille, extended his condolences to the family of the victims.
