MEP regrets for not reaching consensus over prolongation of OSCE Yerevan Office’s mandate

YEREVAN, MAY 25, ARMENPRESS. Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament David McAllister expresses regret for not reaching a consensus over the prolongation of OSCE Yerevan Office’s mandate. “Armenpress” reports in a meeting with reporters McAllister noted that the previous OSCE chairing country, Germany, as well as the current one, Austria, have made efforts in that direction, but sadly it was not possible to reach a consensus.

“Presence of the OSCE is a tool for bringing into life OSCE’s principles. The EU fully supports the works of that office. During the meeting with the representatives of international organizations in Yerevan we very clearly expressed our position”, the Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament stated.
