YEREVAN, MAY 24, ARMENPRESS. The Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) celebrated the 10th anniversary of its establishment with presentation and a forum on May 24, reports Armenpress.

The event was attended by Ministers, representatives of state structures.

During the presentation representatives of various companies, as well as Syrian-Armenian refugees presented their exhibits.

“Our Union was established with 120 members, but today we have more than 13.000 members. This means that the interest towards our Union has been increased. We are cooperating with all countries of the world and this year we assumed the chairmanship at the International Coordinating Council of Employers' Unions (ICCEU). Within the frames of this event chairmen of employers’ union arrived from different countries to Armenia”, RUEA President Gagik Makaryan said, adding that a business forum has been organized during which a number of socio-economic issues will be discussed.

Acting Minister of Nature Protection Artsvik Minasyan attached importance to the Union’s green economy principle. “It is very important to be able to make many principles adopted in the world a reality. Environment and natural resources are foundations of our country’s socio-economic development. The green economy principle is welcomed, and the Ministry is ready to cooperate with the Union on this path”, Minasyan said.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan stated that the Ministry constantly cooperates with the Union, and the goals the Union set before it are among the priorities of the Ministry.

The Republican Union of Employers of Armenia (RUEA) was established on November 15, 2007. It unites 9 territorial and 10 sectoral unions and has 13.000 members, including SMEs and individual entrepreneurs. RUEA is a member of International Organization of Employers (IOE) since April 2011.
