Newly appointed Ambassador of Belgium presents credentials to President Sargsyan

YEREVAN, MAY 23, ARMENPRESS. Newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Armenia Jean-Arthur Régibeau (residence in Moscow) presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan on May 23, press service of the President’s Office told Armenpress.

President Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on starting his diplomatic mission in Armenia and wished him success. Stating that this year Armenia and Belgium celebrate the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, Serzh Sargsyan said with satisfaction that over the past more than two decades the bilateral inter-state relations had continuous development, however, according to him, there are much more expectations in terms of further deepening the relations and enriching the bilateral agenda with a new content. Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope the Ambassador with his activity will contribute to intensifying the bilateral ties and developing the multifaceted cooperation.

In his turn the Belgian Ambassador thanked the President for reception, stating that over the past 25 years the two countries had friendly relations, and his task is to maintain and develop those relations.

During the meeting the opportunities and prospects on expanding the Armenian-Belgian mutual partnership both at bilateral and multilateral formats in various fields were discussed.

The sides also talked about the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement process.
