Armenia’s major taxpayers’ proceeds increase by 18.4%

YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS. Based on the analysis of final figures of the first quarter of 2017, the proceeds of major taxpayers amounted 1 trillion 217.3 billion AMD, which is an increase of 18.4% compared to the same period of 2016, Armenpress reports citing the data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia.

The import volumes increased by 13.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, and the export volumes increased by 1.4%, comprising 177.2 billion AMD.

In terms of paid customs fees, the major taxpayers paid over 38.7 billion AMD in the first quarter of 2017, from which the VAT comprised 28.3 billion AMD. In terms of figures of taxes or other mandatory fees paid to the state budget, the major taxpayers paid over 125.2 billion AMD in the first quarter of 2017. Moreover, the abovementioned companies paid 63.9% of the collected tax revenues in the first quarter of 2017.

Tax authorities carried out 198 inspections, which resulted in additional payments of money to the state budget amounting 2.2 billion AMD.

As of April 1, the major taxpayers had 159.5 billion AMD overpayments, including 105.4 billion AMD in terms of VAT, and 14.7 billion AMD tax liabilities.
