Kapan Medical Center doctor charged for sexual assault
15:33, 28 April 2017YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS. The preliminary investigation of the attempted rape of an 18 year old woman in Kapan has been completed in Syunik’s provincial investigative department of the Investigative Committee.
On January 18 of 2017, an 18 year old local of Kapan town reported that a doctor of the Kapan Medical Center attempted to rape her.
A criminal case was initiated on the report.
The 18 year old woman was admitted to the rehabilitation unit of the medical center on January 16.
A day later, she was transferred to the ‘Doctors’ Unit’, which wasn’t meant for patients.
Overnight January 17-18, one of the doctors of the medical center, sexually assaulted the young woman while being intoxicated.
The woman resisted, pushed the assailant back, bit his hands, threw a glass of water at him and prevented his assault.
The doctor has been charged for attempted rape and has been remanded in custody.
