Tender announced for construction of 50MW solar power plant in Masrik, Armenia

YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS. A tender has been announced on April 28 for the construction of a 50MW solar power plant in Masrik, Hayk Harutyunyan, deputy minister of energy infrastructures and natural resourced told a press conference.

The tender is international, and its pre-qualification package will be available on the ministry’s website.

“The tender’s purpose is choosing investors. Criteria are set for choosing investors, namely relevant experience – the company must have constructed 100MW capacity plants, one of them being 50MW, it is required for the given company to be in line with the defined financial indicators etc. The purpose is to be able to involve a professional and serious company”, he said.

The end-date of the financial contract of the tender is set for the second quarter of 2018.

“We have passed a rather long preparation stage, we hope we will have competitive, low tariffs for solar plants in the final stage. It has to have lower tariffs compared to thermal power plants”, he said.
