American-Armenian writer Peter Suryan dies aged 84

YEREVAN, APRIL 28, ARMENPRESS. American-Armenian writer Peter Suryan has passed away at the age of 84 from severe disease on April 27, translator Aram Arsenyan told Armenpress.

In the last month Peter Suryan underwent 2-3 surgeries.

“Peter Suryan was a wonderful writer, a scholar, a great Armenian, a very responsible person. He was also a wonderful person, kind and decent”, Aram Arsenyan said, who has worked with Suryan for more than 12 years by translating his books.

Peter Suryan is an author of numerous books. He has 5 books published in Armenia. The presentation of one of 5 books, entitled “The best and the worst from times” was held a week before his death, in the Avetik Isahakyan library.

Peter Suryan was born in 1993 in Boston and grew up in New York. He studied at the Phillips Academy. He graduated from the Harvard University’s Department of Romance Languages. He mastered in English, French, Spanish and German.

He is an author of numerous shot stories, three novels, essays, critical and analytical articles.

In 2010 Peter Suryan delivered lectures in a number of universities of Armenia.
