Azerbaijan continues its terrorist policy

Azerbaijan continues its terrorist policy

YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan has never refused from its terrorist policy and now also continues acting the same way, Davit Babayan – spokesperson of the President of Artsakh Republic, told Armenpress, commenting on the recent activeness of the Azerbaijani side in the frontline as a result of which the Armenian side suffered losses.

“Azerbaijan continues its terrorist policy as always did. Now we see that they are conducting military exercises with Turkey, and they started to hold the so-called PR campaign of these exercises on the days of the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This is another form of information, political terrorism. During these days they have advertised their military exercises they are going to conduct in May and complete on the eve of triple holiday of May victories. We are carefully following these developments, the army is brought to the highest level of preparedness”, he said.

Davit Babayan emphasized that Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s such policy must be in the spotlight of international community and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. He recalled that in 2016 Turkey and Azerbaijan again hold joint military exercises after which Azerbaijan launched the April four-day way also provoked by Turkey.

According to Babayan, by such steps Turkey puts in a bad situation the remaining NATO member states since NATO has repeatedly stated that it opposes any conflict’s solution by the use of force and supports exclusively the peaceful settlement. He said Turkey puts in a difficult situation the US, as a NATO leader country and one of the Co-Chair countries of the Minsk Group.

“International community must give a respective assessment on such policy. In general, if assessments were addressed on time, respective steps were taken, perhaps, the situation would be different today”, he said, adding that Azerbaijan, realizing a very weak or no reaction from the international community on its terrorist actions, continues the same policy. Davit Babayan once again stated that the international community must very strongly react to Azerbaijan’s and Turkey’s every step that can pose a threat for the regional peace and stability.
