Prime Minister concerned over ‘insufficient’ level of forest management
12:15, 27 April 2017YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. PM Karapetyan says it is necessary to improve the current model of forest management in the country.
The PM mentioned at the Cabinet meeting that a relevant consultation was held on April 26, since concerns are raised often lately regarding illegal loggings.
“It is necessary to improve the current model of forest management and bring it to compliance with modern management requirements. At this moment the current management level is assessed as insufficient”, the PM said.
He tasked the minister of agriculture to diagnose the existing problems in the forest preservation field and present modern management methods and proposals.
The agriculture ministry is also tasked with presenting anti-logging projects.
