Azerbaijani diplomat’s wife caught shoplifting in NYC
11:09, 27 April 2017YEREVAN, APRIL 27, ARMENPRESS. The wife of an Azerbaijani diplomat has been caught shoplifting in New York, USA.
A security guard at Marshalls on the Grand Concourse in Fordham caught Mehriban Jabrayilova trying to leave the store with $188.88 worth of items in a bag stuffed into the bottom of the baby stroller Tuesday, New York Daily News reported.
Jabrayilova, 29, told cops called to the store she is married to First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy Farid Jabrayilov, 32, and has diplomatic immunity.
US law enforcement agencies can however revoke diplomatic immunity, however this is typically done in case of serious felonies.
Mehriban Jabrayilov could not be reached for comment.
“This did not happen,” her husband told the Daily News.
