Task force set to design strategy on safe management of radioactive waste
12:14, 28 March 2017YEREVAN, MARCH 28, ARMENPRESS. A strategy for safe management of radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel will be designed in Armenia.
With this purpose minister of energy infrastructures and natural resources Ashot Manukyan ordered the creation of a task force, which includes officials from different agencies, such as the foreign ministry, ministry of nature protection, ministry of territorial administration and development, ministry of economic development and investments, ministry of emergency situations, ministry of energy infrastructures and natural resources, as well as the national security service, the nuclear power plant, the state committee on nuclear safety and others.
The ministry told ARMENPRESS the task force has already begun to work.
The group will design and present the strategy by May 20.
