Majority want PM Karapetyan to remain in office after parliamentary election – poll

YEREVAN, MARCH 24, ARMENPRESS. Gallup International Association (GIA) conducted surveys in Armenia after the launch of the campaigning period ahead of the parliamentary election on April 2.

Aram Navasardyan, director of the GIA representation, said Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan has rather high approval rating among the citizens.

“81% of the citizens say Karen Karapetyan’s working style is positive, 82.8% want to see him again as Prime Minister after the parliamentary election”, he said.

Navasardyan said 59,4% of the respondents said the Cabinet’s work during the past 6 months is positive. Regarding the three sectors, which the PM should work on according to the respondents, the citizens mentioned jobs, economy and corruption.

61.7% of the respondents positively view the PM’s participation in the RPA campaign.

1145 people from the provinces and communities took part in the survey.
