Huffington Post columnist presents tools for effective use of social media in Yerevan

YEREVAN, MARCH 21, ARMENPRESS. Columnist at the Huffington Post Sean Gardner proposes mechanisms to Armenian managers on how to properly use social media for business, cultural and in all forms of communication, reports “Armenpress”.

Within the framework of WCFDavos/Yerevan Forum entitled “From Crisis to Development: Powered by Communication”, he told reporters that social media plays a significant role in everyone’s life, thus it is necessary to have tools for its proper use.

“I will present two tools at personal communication level which are very important for using social media. In general, social media is a two-sided platform compared to traditional media. Thus, while using social media everything must be done to maintain the two-sided approach. You cannot be passive in social network, not like others’ photos, not leave comments on others’ photos and posts and expect that they will like or will comment on your photos. This is a very simple example, but always remember that this is a two-sided platform and every user’s responsibility is to maintain this two-sided approach. In other words, you need not only to expect something, but also to give something instead”, Gardner said.

The second important factor for social media use is ensuring transparency. “Always try to show who you are in reality rather than who you want to be. This is also very important otherwise it cannot be effective from personal communication perspective”, Sean Gardner said.

Concluding his speech Gardner said he is impressed with Armenia and promised to write a column about his visit in Armenia at the Huffington Post.
