YEREVAN, MARCH 2, ARMENPRESS. Within the framework of the Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia (MIBMA) project, it is planned to carry out works for improving the Meghri border checkpoint, Carel Hofstra, team leader of the Migration and Border Management in Armenia project told ARMENPRESS.

“With the financing of the EU the border checkpoints of Bagratashen and Gogavan have already been renovated. After renovating the Bavra checkpoint, it is planned to completely renovate the Meghri checkpoint”, he said.

According to him, this year the construction project will be formed.

“Construction works will begin after the design and other works are completed. Preparation works of the project will be completed in 1-1.5 years”, he said.

4 million Euros are planned for realizing the Support to Migration and Border Management in Armenia project.
