Artsakh’s parliament assesses Azerbaijan’s attempts to apply to Interpol absurd

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 23, ARMENPRESS. The factions of the National Assembly of Artsakh have referred to the decision of the Prosecutor General’s office of Azerbaijan to declare manhunt against a number of officials.

“Armenpress” reports leader of Democracy Party Varges Baghryan said that everything is expected from Azerbaijan and none of their steps makes them surprised. “Recently Ilham Aliyev’s spouse was appointed first vice president and now MEPs are wanted. This just makes one smile, and I think no normal person can approve this step of Azerbaijan. They try to link it with our referendum where over 100 international observers participated. It seems to me that Azerbaijan tries to isolate Artsakh from the world, but just the opposite takes place”, Baghryan said.

Head of “Dashnakcutyun” faction David Ishkhanyan said that after Lapshin’s case it was very important to ensure high number of observers. “I think that even politicizing Lapshin’s case Azerbaijan cannot impact on the visits to Arsakh in any way. In fact, the observation missions witnessed the constitutional reforms in Artsakh on the one hand, and learned about the appointment of “high ranking officials” in Azerbaijan on the other hand. Thay are already able to make objective judgments”, Ishkhanyan said.

Head of “Revival” party Hayk Khanumyan noted that many of the international observers did not hide the fact that they are not interested in the steps of Azerbaijan. “They do not plan to spend their summer holidays in Baku’s oil, Azerbaijan can have no serious expectations by making similar announcements”, Khanumyan said.
