YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijani forces made over 105 ceasefire violations in the Nagorno Karabakh (NKR)-Azerbaijan line of contact, firing more than 1500 shots at NKR positions, the defense ministry of NKR told ARMENPRESS.

The ministry released a statement, saying: “On February 21 and overnight February 22 a an escalation of tension was recorded in the line of contact.

Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire regime over 105 times using D-44 cannons, 60mm, 82mm and 120mm mortars and various caliber machine guns, firing more than 1500 shots at NKR positions. In the eastern and northeastern parts Azerbaijan opened intense fire from D-44 cannons and various caliber mortars, overall firing 36 shells (15 from cannons and 21 from mortars).

The Defense Army of NKR took countermeasures to suppress the Azerbaijani aggression and confidently continued their service”.
