3714 unemployed young people receive jobs in Armenia in a year
YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. The number of people who got jobs increased in 2016 compared to 2015 thanks to the regional employment centers. In 2016 17.473 job seekers received jobs, whereas in 2015 this number was 16.598 – Tsoghik Bezhanyan, Head of Information Provision Unit at State Employment Agency, told “Armenpress”.
“3714 out of those who received jobs in 2016 had been unemployed youth, from which 816 were provided with seasonal or temporary work. 990 of those who got jobs were disabled people, from which 764 got seasonal or temporary work. 18.5% of people, who were employed, work in industry, 17.2% in wholesale and retail trade, repair of vehicles and motorcycles, 17.3% is services, 8.1% in education, 7.5% in healthcare and social service sectors”, she said.
Since the beginning of the year permanent and temporary employment provision projects have been carried out.
According to the data of State Employment Agency, the number of job seekers as of December 31, 2016 was 95.800. The number of unemployed people among them comprised 84.4% or 80.500 people. The number of youth was 23.6% or 19.200 among unemployed people, and the disabled people were 3.6% or 2.9000 people.
