International companies ready to take part in tender to construct solar power plant in Armenia

YEREVAN, JANUARY 30, ARMENPRESS. The Investment Conference, held on the sidelines of “Energy Week 2017” in Yerevan January 25-27, showed that the foreign investors are seriously interested in the implementation of the program on constructing industrial-scale solar power plants in Armenia, press service of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources told “Armenpress”.

Tamara Babayan – Director of Armenia Renewable Resources and Energy Efficiency Fund, said almost all international companies participating in the conference expressed readiness to take part in the tender aimed at constructing solar power plant in the administrative territory of Gegharkunik province.

The solar power plant construction program in “Masrik 1” area was presented in the conference, the expected power of which is 50mW. One of the main conditions of the tender is the offered tariff.

All events planned on the sidelines of “Energy Week 2017” initiative were successfully implemented. More than 4 dozen companies took part in the events. The total number of participants reached over 400.

Tamara Babayan said the conference participants highly appreciated the high professionalism showed in the solar energy field, as well as the transparency of the organization of works.

“The foggy weather in Yerevan during the conference days didn’t hinder the participants to highly appreciate Armenia’s solar resource”, she said.
