Armenian Government announces competition for investment programs at Syunik’s free trade 
zone

YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, ARMENPRESS. The Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia has issued an announcement offering to submit investment projects at the free trade zone of Syunik Province of Armenia. “Armenpress” reports Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Hovhannes Azizyan hoped that different local and foreign companies will submit their business projects.

“We will try to combine different interests and select the projects which will be most attractive and will meet the requirements of our country. We will focus on the approaches and number of jobs that will be created. After there are enough proposals, we will submit them to the Government of Armenia and after some discussions the free trade zone will come into operation”, the Deputy Minister said, adding that the deadline for submitting proposals is on February 10, 2017.

He also hoped that the Government decision will be taken by April and the free trade zone of Syunik Province will start operating by the end of the year.
