YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, ARMENPRESS. Selahattin Demirtaş, co-leader of Turkey’s Pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party, who is currently under arrest, released a statement from jail on the occasion of the 10th anniversary marking Hrant Dink’s murder.

In the statement published in Agos, Demirtaş particularly said:  “We are in the 10th year since Hrant Dink left us. Unfortunately, during the past 10 years we failed to transform our country to a country of free living. That’s why we have an obligation to Hrant. However we didn’t kneel.

I am sad that I can’t take part in this year’s commemorative events due to being jailed. However, even when being here, I continue the fight for justice for Hrant. This crime was directed against the coexistence of peoples. We were all targeted by the crime. We will continue to fight.

Brother. We miss you, but our heads are high, just the way you wanted.

I remember with respect and esteem”.
