YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARMENPRESS. The National Bank of Ukraine will issue “Ivan Ayvazovsky” medals dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the prominent painter. As “Armenpress” was informed from the National Bank of Ukraine, the medal will be issued in 25 thousand examples and will be placed in the range of “Prominent Persons of Ukraine”.

Artistic stamp will also be issued on the occasion of Ivan (Hovhannes) Ayvazovsky’s anniversary. It will be included in “Ukraine’s museum treasures”.

“Issuing stamp and medal on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the famous painter documents the state recognition of Hovhannes Ayvazovsky’s contribution to the global art. It is also a vivid example of mutual enrichment of Armenian and Ukrainian cultures”, Ukraine's heraldic board member and historian Maxim Tsarenko told AnalitukaUA.net.
