Armenian President says

YEREVAN, JANUARY 16, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan convened a consultation on January 16 to discuss the implementation process of the “Armenia's jurisdiction” program and future activities. As “Armenpress” was informed from the press service of the Armenian President’s Office, Serzh Sargsyan touched upon the issues and priorities set for the Board.

“I believe it’s time for us to more vigorously involve international organizations, different specialists, and skillful people in Armenia’s development”, the President said, stressing that in order to make Armenia more attractive for the international business we must give new drive to the reforms in judicial, financial and tax spheres, as well as improve our business environment.

“You know that I ratified on November 30 the legislative package adopted by the National Assembly according to which Armenia liberalizes the movement of legal entities from Armenia and into Armenia”, Serzh Sargsyan said, noting that the Board was set by his decree on November 26 and the provisions elaborated by it have been approved by the Government. “In fact, “Armenia's jurisdiction” Board holds its first plenary session today. I believe all of us are aware of the goals. Simple, to my conviction, we have to examine the international practice more deeply, and create the real image of the Republic of Armenia and create favorable jurisdiction for legal entities and companies in Armenia based on Armenia’s attractiveness, advantages, the capacities of our people, and first of all of our talented youth, as well as the role of Armenians in the world. I am sure that Armenia’s membership to the Eurasian Economic Union has a vital role here as well, as well as Armenia’s gradually rising participation in various EU projects”, the President said, stressing that Armenia’s position on assisting the international efforts aimed at struggling money laundering, not tolerating the funding of criminal acts, fight against fiscal piracy and guaranteeing transparency in the financial sphere remains unchanged.

Board Members of “Armenia's jurisdiction” program reported on the implementation process of the tasks set by the President.

According to the Presidential decree, the Board Members will submit reports to the President on the implementation process of the program on quarterly basis.
