YEREVAN, JANUARY 13, ARMENPRESS. A 10,4% growth of passenger flow has been documented in Armenia’s airports in 2016 as compared to 2015. The difference comprised 200 thousand passengers.

The General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia told ARMENPRESS the passenger flow in Zvartnots airport in January-December 2016 comprised 2,105,540 people – a 12% increase compared to the previous year.

Zvartnots airport’s passenger flow surpassed the 2 million threshold in 2016, documenting the highest indicator since 1992. In 2016, է 1 048 153 passengers departed Yerevan and 1 057 387 passengers arrived, while in 2015 the numbers were 944 373 and 935 294 respectively.

Cargo shipments in Zvartnots airport comprised 18 269 tons, 80,4% more than in 2015.

9266 flights landed and took-off in/from Zvartnots airport in 2016, a 2.8% increase compared to the previous year.

After the re-launch of Gyumri’s “Shirak” airport, the passenger flow in 2016 comprised 12 421 people and 4,2 tons of cargo shipments.
