Kremlin warns new possible US sanctions will harm global economy

YEREVAN, JANUARY 11, ARMENPRESS. Russian President’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the new anti-Russian sanctions proposed by a group of US senators can cause damage to global economy, especially, the energy market, whereas the Russian energy sector will find possible measures to compensate the damage, reports Interfax.

“Of course, we would like to hope that common sense will prevail and it would be possible to downward the sanctions narrative”, Peskov said, adding that such decisions will not only harm the bilateral relations, but also the global economy and the global energy market. “There may be certain negative consequences for our country”, he said.

Earlier TASS reported, a group of US senators on January 10 submitted a bill on imposing additional sanctions against Russia for unproven attempts to influence the recent US presidential elections through cyber attacks to the Senate’s discussion.
