We are always ready to assist you – Armenian Premier meets with national minority representatives
YEREVAN, DECEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received on December 14 the representatives of National minorities.
As “Armenpress” was informed from the press serviced of the Armenian Government, greeting the guests, the PM noted that the meeting is aimed at addressing the issues of concern for the national minorities, discuss issues of bilateral cooperation and how the Cabinet can assist them.
Afterwards, exchange of ideas took place touching upon the social-economic situation of the minorities, community infrastructures, improvement of premises of schools, training of teachers, expansion of state scholarships, as well as ensuring TV air for minorities.
The representatives of the national minorities mentioned with satisfaction that they are widely engaged in various educational, cultural and social activities on both regional and republican level, while their national educational and cultural centers in Armenia operate smoothly fostering the preservation of their native language, culture and traditions.
Summing up the meeting, PM Karapetyan said, “First of all I will feel very satisfied if I am able to be of any good for you in terms of preservation of national identity and culture. Secondly, my attitude to you will always be like to any citizen of the Republic of Armenia, since irrespective of the ethnic composition of the village, it must be provided with water, gas and so on. So you can be sure that we are always open and ready to assist you”.
