YEREVAN, DECEMBER 9, ARMENPRESS. Dmitry Ivanov, director of Moscow's state circus, and director of the Yerevan circus Sos Petrosyan signed an agreement within the framework of the 5th International cultural forum in St. Petersburg.

Sos Petrosyan, artistic director of the Yerevan circus and president of Armenia’s Union of Circus figures told ARMENPRESS the agreement plans joint master classes, exchange of actors and joint festivals.

“Several European countries have also taken part in the St. Petersburg international cultural forum. Within the framework of this agreement, contracts with actors of these countries will be signed with even less costs”, he said.

According to Petrosyan, similar meetings boost the development of circus art.

“I had the chance to deliver lectures in the St. Petersburg Theater and film institute. I presented the past and present of our circus. The interest was quite big”, Petrosyan said.

“It has been four years since the circus stopped operating, but we haven’t suspended our contacts with our partners for a single day. It will be easier for us when we will have a new circus”, he said.

Speaking on the renovation works of the circus, Petrosyan said the works are carried out as planned.
