EEC Board Chairman considers 2016 as stabilization year for Eurasian Economic Union

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. The year 2016 was a year of stabilization for the Eurasian Economic Union. The decreased rates of trade turnover volumes in 2014-2015 are already stabilized and there is a hope next year growth will be recorded, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Tigran Sargsyan told in an interview with “Mir” TV, reports “Armenpress”.

He attached importance to complete the ongoing works in the Customs Code next year and said it is a fundamental and advanced document that aims to improve the business environment in the member states.

“By constructing right trade-economic relations we provide a chance to our companies to export their products to new markets which creates favorable conditions for investments in our countries”, he said.

The major goal set for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union is to create favorable environment for the business. “And it is clear, when we erase our borders, the work for business in the market becomes more convenient. It is easier to work, and the labor migration becomes more convenient for our citizens as well”, he said.

Tigran Sargsyan said the establishment of Free Trade Zone under the initiative of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been one of their work priorities.

“We have initiated to create the so-called “White Book” which will underline all existing obstacles and restrictions in the Union”, he said adding that a timetable will be set based on that in order to overcome that restrictions which at this stage are 300.
