Yerevan City Hall condemns any form of corruption
15:27, 8 December 2016YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. The Yerevan City Hall condemns and will condemn any form of corruption, Arthur Gevorgyan, head of the PR and press department of the City Hall told ARMENPRESS, commenting on the recent arrest of a City Hall official is suspicion of bribery.
“Those employees who display such behavior, should be punished according to the law”, he said.
The National Security Service arrested a Yerevan City Hall official in suspicion of bribery. The arrested individual is the head of Urban Development and Land Supervision regional department of the Yerevan City Hall.
The press service of the NSS told ARMENPRESS according to initial information the suspect had demanded large amounts of money from citizens in the period of October-November for providing the construction completion documents of residential areas, commercial and public facilities. The suspect acted both personally or at the assistance of third parties.
A criminal case has been initiated.
Investigation is underway.
