Nairit plant bankruptcy to boost presenting rehabilitation programs to investors - minister

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Declaring the Nairit Plant bankrupt by court doesn’t hinder the investment tender of the government, minister Davit Harutyunyan, chief of staff the government told Rule of Law faction leader Heghine Bisharyan during a Q&A between the Parliament and Cabinet.

“I would like to first of all clarify what bankruptcy means. Bankruptcy is one method of rehabilitating a company. Not a single investor would be found, who would be willing to invest in a company facing the possibility of being charged with 100 million dollars”, Harutyunyan said.

He added bankruptcy is the mechanism which enables investors, if such are present, to be proposed with rehabilitation programs. “This is the best solution”, Harutyunyan said.
