Blizzard along Berd-Tchambarak highway, Vardenyats Pass
14:44, 7 December 2016YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. The ministry of transportation, communication and information technologies reports as of 09:30, December 7, the Berd-Tchambarak highway and the Vardenyats Pass is difficult to pass due to a blizzard.
The ministry told ARMENPRESS the Gavar-Martuni, Stepanavan-Tashir, Vayk-Saravan, Sisian-Goris highways and the Vardenyats Pass are partly covered with clear ice.
Highway supervision agencies are carrying out 24-hour clearing operations along the highways.
Drivers are advised to travel using exclusively winter tires.
The Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles using snow chains, except vehicles with trailers.
